PROFESSIONAL BIO
My mission is to inspire and assist others in remembering that it’s fun to be creative.
I coach professionals and business owners with bringing creativity and courage to the office. What do they really want to create? What is standing in their way? Why are they stuck? How can they overcome resistance and procrastination and experience more focus and joy (yes, I dare say joy) in the workplace for their own benefit, the benefit of their team, and for the benefit of their company/business.
I coach writers and other creatives. What can I do to "get out of my own way" and allow the creativity to flow. What judgments do I need to let go of? How do I set myself up for success? How do I start, continue, and complete my projects? I have presented at the Bright Light Film Festival, ScriptFest, The Great American Pitchfest, Scriptwriters Network, and the L.A. Mastery Group.
I assist men and women with my Trading Your Everyday Addictions for Creativity & Empowerment workshops, presentations, and one-on-one coaching. I invite you to listen to Steve Chandler's Creativity & Addiction audio blog where I was invited to be a guest.

I believe the whole world will be a better place in 4.3 days if every human being on the planet did something creative for 20 to 30 minutes a day. I’ve experienced this with myself and with my coaching clients. Just 20 to 30 minutes a day. This is the starting point. This changes lives for the better. This is possible for you. I’ve seen this make a significant difference in the lives of men and women. (Note: most kids are already having creative fun for 30 or more minutes a day. Teens sometimes need a little more assistance.)
My first epic novel, Space Spiders on Prom Day is an action-adventure, romance, thriller. And, it's even more than that. It's an empowerment, self-help book wrapped-up in outrageousness. Men, women, and teens are reading it for fun and coming away positively changed. How can I remain positive and continue to take action even against overwhelming odds ... even when prom is threatened? Oh, the insanity. Space Spiders on Prom Day is available on Amazon. You can read the first chapter here.
I live with my really fantastic wife and two awesome kids in Los Angeles. I am grateful for their support, fun, and good times.

Creativity Coach
It always comes down to two things:
How can I be more creative and how can I have the courage to act (take risks) to create more of the life I really want?
I've been working with individual clients since 2005. I've worked with men and women building their businesses and practices, expressing their creativity, connecting and speaking up for themselves, and pursuing their visions, dreams, and goals at the office, in their studio, and at home with family and friends.
Writers with Writing
I am an author. I've written screenplays and I'm writing my second book. I know what it takes to sit down and write.
Sometimes I work with writers with story structure. I love plot and character development. I also work with writers with thier non-fiction business books & memoirs (Note: There are Story & Character Arcs in non-fiction too). I coach writers and help them with creating time and energy to write. I love writing and I love teaching others how to ENJOY writing (novels, memoirs, non-fiction) rather than making writing a "should" or a "have to." I'm serious, about this. There is a way to enjoy writing and the adventure of creating. You can have fun writing.
Trading Your Everyday Addictions for Creativity & Empowerment
My focus with my clients is always what is THEIR mission? THEIR heart’s desire? THEIR life's purpose? I assist them with hearing and acting on their Calling. Building a business, excelling in their career, creating the project, and taking risks to succeed.
I assist my clients with de-energizing old habits and patterns (their everyday addictions such as binge-watching, pornography, video games, celebrity news, the regular news, sports, Facebooking, etc.)
Note, I do NOT call these bad or wrong. Life is an adventure! Being human is awesome! We have many choices. But sometimes people realize that doing the above activities for 3 to 10 hours a day is not really fulfilling. Some of my clients (or the spouses of clients) find me and ask me to assist them because they "got a little to wrapped up" in old habits and patterns. I help them with trading “the old stuff” with creativity — which turns out is A LOT more fun than consuming all of the time. I also assist my clients to release judgments (of themselves and others) and approach creating lives as an adventure. I have developed many ways of working with others.
Couples
I never set out to coach couples, it just seemed to happen. My wife and I have been together for over 25 years (we started dating in our early twenties) and we have grown a lot as individuals and as a couple. Some people say, you two are so lucky you found each other. I always laugh and reply, if you would have known us when we first met, you might not have thought either one of us was lucky.
Here’s the real story.
My wife and I have spent over $30,000 on coaches, therapists, classes, workshops, and books. Why? Because we needed it. Both of our parents divorced when we were in college and we both KNEW if we didn’t figure out a better way to live "life" we were not going to be happy as individuals. And if we could not be happy as individuals, we would not be happy as a couple. We knew if we didn’t figure out a better way we would end up blaming each other for our unhappiness (like our parents did). We are now the perfect couple and we do everything perfectly. Nah, just joking. I can tell you we have come a long way and our communication skills, positive outlook, and relationship continue to be an adventure. I only work with couples when they decide to be vulnerable and honest. And, when they both agree they are both responsible for the situation they are in.
